The first technique of cooking which came into existence was “Roasting”. It was believed that primitive humans have begun to cook by tossing raw piece of meat into the fire.
Cooking had an evolutionary effect as it increased food efficiency which allowed human ancestors to spend less time in forgaging, chewing & digesting food.
Homo erectus developed a smaller, more efficient digestive tract which freed up energy to enable larger brain growth.
